ORANGE

Dear Colleagues,

Our last news blog was quite a long time ago. Which is due to the fact that all of our business has picked up speed again. In the last few weeks we have been traveling all over Germany for meetings, incentives, and congresses: from the southwest to the north and the very end in our headquarters in Frankfurt.

It´s really fantastic that there is so much movement in our market again.

And that brings us to Frankfurt and the connection to our current color orange.

It is wonderful to stroll through the woods in our area at the moment which are currently splendent in all colors, and especially in a warm orange. Because orange is the color of autumn. The power and meaning of the color orange is very varied. Dynamic, life-affirming, warming the color orange combines all of these properties. It symbolizes autumn and the colorful splendor of the leaves, it gives strength and joie de vivre, it encourages us to do our best.

Welcome
Autumn

Welcome

to

Mainhattan

A VIBRANT INTERNATIONAL METROPOLIS

Frankfurt am Main may be famous for its skyscrapers and countless trade fairs, but there´s much more to the 1,200-year-old city than its reputation suggests.
The city offers over 40 museums and exhibition spaces, more than 60 theatres and one of Europe´s most significant opera houses. View a selection of European art spanning 700 years at Germany´s oldest museum foundation, the Städel Museum (currently showing a Rembrandt exhibition), head to the prestigious SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE to enjoy some modern and contemporary art, have a look at Goethe’s house, the city’s most prominent son, or visit one of the world´s two original Diplodocus skeletons at the Senckenberg Museum. Wander the narrow streets of Frankfurt´s beautifully reconstructed medieval old town or explore gorgeous green spaces.

FRANKFURT BETHMÄNNCHEN

They are small, they are round and they are part of Frankfurt – like Goethe, Wäldchestag, Dippemess, and the Main. This old specialty should not be missing on any Frankfurt coffee table. Bethmännchen are balls made from the finest marzipan dough, glazed with egg yolk and baked until they are tender and brown. According to a legend, the chef of the famous Frankfurt banker Simon Moritz von Bethmann invented them at the beginning of the 19th century. Her decoration with three almonds is her distinguishing mark: one almond for every Bethmann son.

200 g marzipan paste, 60 g superfine sugar, 100 g ground almonds, 4 tbsp flour, 1 egg white. Roughly chop the marzipan and sieve the superfine sugar over it. Add the ground almonds and flour. Separate the egg and add the egg white as well. Knead everything together. Form small balls with your hands and place ona baking sheet lined with baking paper.

1 egg yolk, 3 tbsp milk, 40 g blanched almonds (whole) Preheat the oven to 175 degrees (convection: 155 degrees). Whisk the egg yolks with milk. Press 3 blanched almonds onto each ball of dough. Finally, brush the dough balls with the egg yolk-milk mixture. Bake for about 15 minutes. Let cool down completely.

Guten Appetit
